About Freely Flourish Financial

Freely Flourish Financial™ is a coaching company that leads people towards financial wellness in their wealth-building journey by blending principles and practices from three growing fields: financial coaching, financial therapy, and life coaching.

Financial coaches support people in identifying their money goals and implementing them. They can work alongside of or independent of financial professionals like CPAs or financial advisors.

Financial therapists provide emotional support around money by uncovering reasons that people may get stuck when trying to reach their goals, or worse yet not having goals. Financial therapy is not the formal practice of therapy or counseling, but can use skills and techniques from these fields as appropriate. Dr. Billina is a psychiatrist and uses her wealth of knowledge of human development, psychology, and behavior to create life-changing results. However, Freely Flourish Financial™ does not provide mental health counseling or therapy services.

Freely Flourish Financial™ focuses on an individual’s strengths in order to help them build wealth. We strive to eliminate guilt, shame, regret, one’s past and/or other any other negative thoughts that create an unhealthy relationship with money through the use of scientifically proven skills that will rewire the brain so that it can attract abundance. Financial coaching techniques will then help clients move from thinking to action so that they can turn their dreams into a reality.

About Dr. Billina

Dr. Billina Shaw, Founder & Coach, is a Yale-educated, triple board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry, as well as addiction medicine. She has held leadership roles in local, state, and federal government, private organizations, and her local church.

She graduated from Yale University with distinction in Psychology, earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and obtained a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Dr. Shaw has long held an interest in finances and has advised others in this area for years. However, she noticed that even when people received practical knowledge about financial strategy and money management, they often struggled to make lasting changes to improve their financial health. She came to understand that money isn’t just math—it’s a blend of numbers and meaning. Realizing that her passion as a psychiatrist was empowering change from the inside out, she began integrating this approach into how she supported people with their finances. Today, she has found her calling as a financial coach, helping individuals build wealth by strengthening both their mindset and their strategies for wealth creation.
